Fashionista

I just had to document Lydia's outfit today.
Leggings (her favorites), shorts, shirt (and cami), vest, jacket, gladiator sandals that I wish came in my size too. . .
And the hair parted down the middle. She decided one day that's how she wanted it and hasn't let me brush her hair ever since.

To the Orfunig

To Mel
Frome Lydia
"I do not love you Mel. I hate you Mel. Do not love Lydia"
"I want to go to the orphanage" Not Lydia!
She really is a lovely child. When she gets her way.

"There was a little girl, who had a little curl
Right in the middle of her forehead,
And when she was good, she was very, very good,
But when she was bad she was horrid."

Valentine's Prep

Lydia's class party is today so I had the kids write their names on all their class valentine's last night. Jude rushed through his having no fun at all. But these two wrote their names their best and talked about which friends would be getting which cards (when in reality they don't get to personalize anything anymore)- Lydia did make a special valentine for a boy in her class named Bennion that she is going to give to him after class. I support this completely because Bennion has been a good friend to her all year and never tells her that they aren't friends anymore like the girls do.

Muffins with Mom

Muffins with Mom at Lydia's school. This is before Kayla dumped the juice over of course.
Also, I was wearing pink too in case you haven't noticed that we live in a VERY pink world. Poor Jude can't see pink though! He thought my pink shirt was gray until I held my gray sweater up next to it. Apparently the only difference is that pink is darker. I find it very funny that Jude can't see the dominant color in his life. Perhaps his color-blindness is a defense mechanism to protect himself from pink over-taking his world too?

Hearts

Lydia LOVES hearts. She taught herself how to draw them when she was like 3 and has been putting them on everything ever since. She was especially proud of her heart-shaped pretzel.

Happy Birthday Lydia!

Daddy made the birthday girl her very own leaf pile to jump in to her hearts content.
(We always seem to be raking up leaves around her birthday. . .)
I can NOT believe my baby girl is already 7.

She is SO excited to be 7 and she had an amazing day. Her friend Jaycee and her mom and aunt took Lydia out for a day of fun. They went to the mall and some clothing stores, they stopped and ate lunch, they bought make-up. . . it was exactly what she wanted and she came home acting 17 instead of 7 :)

Happy Birthday Jude!!

Look at my not-so-little baby boy :)
Dad has decided that when you turn 8 you get a doughnut the size of your head. Jude was really close to finishing that thing too. And Lydia was a bit disappointed in her doughnut that was not quite as big as her head, but still massive. . .

Scouts! A new book, shirt, scriptures, everything he needs!

And new shoes. Size THREE! I truly can not believe he's already 8. Some days I miss my little boy, but mostly I just love having him around. He's such a sweet boy (when he wants to be) and so stinking smart that I just love talking with him. I do moon-walk away when he starts describing Pokemon though. . . that's what his friends are for.

More Birthday Fun

I love how she's cheering for herself when she literally didn't blow out a single candle :) Jude and Kayla blew out the ones on the sides ha!
Daddy gave her a second try. See the look on Jude's face? Guess what he was thinking. . .
A pink nightgown! And a pink mickey mouse shirt!
This kid loves pink :)

Happy Birthday Talia!

The birthday girl!!! I can't believe she's already 3!
She absolutely LOVED her new scooter (she didn't call it a scooter though, she called it her birthday) and got right on it and started riding with no trouble.
She's a natural!
Jude and Lydia didn't care about the scooter, they just wanted to eat doughnuts :)
Daddy always gets doughnuts when we have a birthday and the kids love it of course. So much chocolate. . .
And just because she's cute: Kayla insists on using a fork for everything now and it's hilarious :)

Rec Center

I absolutely love getting a pass to the rec center every summer.
My kids LOVE the climbing wall. Jude is a pro, and this summer Lydia made it to the top! Julia doesn't really care for it, I think she's afraid of heights. Talia thinks it no big deal that she can climb higher than I can even reach her. I love watching them work out the puzzle and make choices and stretch their muscles. I also love to play basketball in the gym. And of course everyone likes the swimming! What did people do before rec centers? Play in the dirt with sticks I guess.
