Piano Shenanigans

When did my baby get so chubby?
And what makes her think laying on the piano is okay?

Rec Center

I absolutely love getting a pass to the rec center every summer.
My kids LOVE the climbing wall. Jude is a pro, and this summer Lydia made it to the top! Julia doesn't really care for it, I think she's afraid of heights. Talia thinks it no big deal that she can climb higher than I can even reach her. I love watching them work out the puzzle and make choices and stretch their muscles. I also love to play basketball in the gym. And of course everyone likes the swimming! What did people do before rec centers? Play in the dirt with sticks I guess.

IHOP

This girl is so dramatic.
When the waitress brought her this pancake the size of her head she was all sorts of "freaked out" when in reality she was more excited than you can imagine.

Fishing

We had the bright idea to take the kids fishing at a local pond today.
I left after about 20 minutes with the two youngest, they just don't care about fishing, go figure.
Lydia had fun with her new bird whistle though.
Yet another reason I took off early :)

Play Time

This baby hardly ever gets left alone to just play, so today when I found her in Jude's room helping herself to some dinosaurs I couldn't help but sit and watch her imagination. She was roaring and playing and having tons of fun!

Splash Pad Fun

Riding the carousel never gets old :)
Kayla wasn't so sure, but she warmed up to it quick.
Talia and Kayla stay closer than the big kids so I took tons of pictures of them, and none of anybody else. Plus they're cute :)

Kayla was cracking me up the way she would fall back into the water and just drift with the stream for a bit before she'd get back up again. I watched her close cause it was scary, but that kid is fearless just drifting downstream like that!

Some lady brought Kayla back over to me at one point and pointed out that she was going to burn her feet running off onto the hot cement. I didn't say it, but I should have told her "yeah and then she'll learn. Now she'll never understand why she shouldn't run off onto the hot cement. AND she's now terrified because some stranger just picked her up, so double thanks." But instead I just rolled my eyes behind my sunglasses.

T was quite the terror with the squirt gun. Towards me.

Yellow Belt

Jude advanced to yellow belt today!
He and Lydia started taking some classes at the beginning of May, but Lydia decided she didn't like it (meaning, she wasn't allowed to do whatever she wanted during class). Jude has stuck with it though and advanced a belt after just a few months! I think they go easy on the newbies, but he was pretty proud of himself. And yellow is his favorite color. I enjoy seeing him out there grappling and sparring with the other kids. Hopefully he'll learn some discipline, self-control, and to do his best.
