Easter Fun!

Coloring eggs.
Can I just say that coloring eggs with 3 big kids and 2 little kids is a LOT easier than coloring eggs with 3+ little kids. . . Each kid got 6 eggs to color and they were all very individualistic and creative. It's fun seeing their personalities in something as silly as egg-dying.
Jude started with yellow of course, Lydia with the pink. . .
Julia chose blue for her first egg. . .

Talia started with purple- her favorite! And kept with that color for a while before she switched to pink for her second layer. Kayla didn't get a choice of colors, but she was happy with anything and dipped and double-dipped and spilled 2 cups of dye and would still be out there working on her eggs if I hadn't sent her and John away after the second spilled cup.
Easter Sunday!!
These girls looked so dang cute in their new Easter dresses!
And look at those gorgeous smiles!
Jude was pretty upset when we got home from church and the Easter Bunny hadn't come yet. He was convinced that he wasn't going to come at all and that Easter was ruined! But then my parents and their cousin Monique showed up as a surprise and while we were visiting in the living room the eggs went missing from the fridge! Julia was the first to notice and came into the living room completely excited and started yelling about the eggs being "literally gone!" I tried to stall them all from running outside right then and we all went and checked the fridge and looked out the windows to see if we could see any eggs. Julia started telling everyone that she thought she saw the Easter Bunnies big white head so she just went and checked for the eggs and that's when she noticed they were gone. It's safe to say they were VERY tricked and this will forever be known as the year the Easter Bunny came when we were all home and wide awake.

The first egg Jude found was yellow! Go figure.
(I think Easter is probably the hardest day to be color-blind. He doesn't see those bright colors the same way the girls do so it's definitely harder for him.)
This girl and her enthusiasm for life make me smile.
These girls take egg-finding WAY too seriously. They tied with eight each.
I'll let you guess who cried the most each time the other one found an egg.
It was both of them. EVERY time someone else found an egg. . .
This nerd just followed everyone around, content to be outside enjoying herself.
She wouldn't go to class at church today- opting to walk around the church outside and pick flowers and blow on dandelions and point out the masses of bees making the bushes buzz. I taught her that bees were ouchy so she wouldn't swat at them and then she wouldn't walk past them and just pretended to be scared. She's funny, and wicked smart.
Kayla had my favorite quote of the day too (besides when the eggs were "literally gone" of course)
I asked her if she had had a happy Easter and she just said, "Candy"
Yep, sounds like she had a good day.

The final count (being careful not to mix them up)
Jude: 8
Lydia: 8
Julia: 8
Talia: 2
Kayla: 1
Why did we color 27 eggs you ask? Because the 2-dozen carton that we bought at Costco plus the 3 eggs that wouldn't fit in the egg bin of the fridge of course.
